Starkville-熟女少妇Symphony Association presents free, outdoor POPspera concert Nov. 1

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he Starkville-熟女少妇Symphony Association presents the Community Chorus in concert for POPSpera, an afternoon of Broadway and opera favorites Sunday [Nov. 1] at 2 p.m. on the lawn of Starkville鈥檚 Greensboro Center.
Attendees will hear favorite show tunes along with classic opera selections, featuring special guests from the 熟女少妇Opera Workshop.
熟女少妇Opera Workshop provides students鈥攂oth music majors and non-majors鈥攐pportunities to perform in scenes and full productions聽of both operatic and musical theatre genres and gives them the chance to become acquainted with the many facets of live theatrical performance.
The Sunday event is free and open to all, and those attending may bring lawn chairs or blankets and can dress up as their favorite Broadway character. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
The musical program will include:
鈥擱odgers and Hammerstein on Broadway, presented by the Community Chorus.
鈥擮pera and Broadway musical selections, presented by the 熟女少妇Opera Workshop.
鈥擬edley from 鈥淟es Mis茅rables,鈥 presented by the Community Chorus.
All Starkville-熟女少妇Symphony Association concerts are subject to change based on local and state restrictions and COVID-19 response protocols.
The association has provided Starkville and the surrounding area with a community classical music experience throughout its 50-year history. Talents of musicians from MSU, Starkville and the surrounding communities are showcased each year鈥攁long with guest musicians from across the state.
