Dr. Alan Sams currently serves as Oregon State University鈥檚 Reub Long Dean and Director for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural Experiment Station. He is the Chief Executive Officer for all OSU teaching, research and extension programs in agriculture and related natural resources in Oregon. He previously served as Executive Associate Dean for Texas A&M University鈥檚 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and as Dean of Clemson University鈥檚 College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences. He also served as department head and a faculty member in Texas A&M University鈥檚 Department of Poultry Science.
Dr. Sams completed his doctoral work at the University of Florida in food science and human nutrition. He also completed a master鈥檚 in poultry science and bachelor鈥檚 in poultry science & food and resource economics, also at the University of Florida.
